Redeem in three steps

  1. Sign in to Steam

Open the Steam app or steampowered.com and sign in to the account that should receive the balance. Wallet funds stick to one account forever, so pick the right one now.

  2. Open the redeem page

Go to Games → Redeem a Steam Wallet Code (or store.steampowered.com/account/redeemwalletcode in a browser). Paste the code exactly as it appears in your GiftSpend email.

  3. Confirm the balance

Steam shows the amount and adds it to your wallet instantly. It is now spendable on games, DLC, in-game items and the Steam Deck reservation alike.

If something looks wrong

“Invalid code”

Nine times out of ten it is a copy-paste slip: a trailing space or a confused 0/O. Type the code manually, hyphens included.

“Wrong region”

The code currency does not match your account currency. Contact support with your order ID — do not try it repeatedly, Steam rate-limits attempts.

Code not arrived

Check spam first, then the order page (link in your confirmation email). Verified buyers can open a support ticket in one click.

Quick answers

Does Steam wallet balance expire?

No. Once redeemed, the balance stays on your account until you spend it.

Can I gift my balance to a friend?

Wallet balance itself is not transferable — but you can buy them a game as a gift, or send them a Steam card from GiftSpend directly.

Can I redeem on mobile?

Yes — the Steam mobile app has the same Redeem a Wallet Code option in the menu, and the balance syncs everywhere instantly.
